Dr. Karen HoOptometrist
Dr. Karen Ho received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Toronto. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 1997. Dr. Ho has worked in joint practices with ophthalmologists in private clinics, at laser correction centres and in full scope optometric clinics that provided comprehensive care including urgent eye care. Dr. Ho is certified in the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical agents (TPA) in Canada as well as the Treatment and Management of Ocular Diseases (TMOD) in the United States. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, the College of Optometrists of Ontario and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. She actively participates in annual continuing education and is proactive about incorporating new and effective treatments in her practice to provide the best possible care for her patients.

Dr. Ho opened her own optometric practice in Newmarket in 2004 where she practices in an office alongside her husband’s dental practice. In 2010 Dr. Ho joined with the York Medical group and opened a second office to provide better healthcare access to the community especially with regards to diabetic care. Dr. Ho values the importance of providing her patients with the best possible vision through comprehensive eye exams. She takes great pride in educating her patients about their vision and eye health in order to help them make the best decisions for their visual requirements. Dr. Ho welcomes patients of all ages and is able to offer exams in Cantonese in addition to English.

Dr. Leslie GilliverOptometrist
Dr. Leslie Gilliver graduated with honors from the University of Waterloo in 2009. She has been working at York Optometric Centre since it opened in 2010 and is happy to be serving the community in which she grew up. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and Canadian Association of Optometrists and is board certified to prescribe Therapeutic Pharmacological Agents.

Dr. Gilliver takes pride in providing comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages, from 6 months and up. She believes it is important for all children to have their eyes examined before they start school, and as such is happy to participate in the Eye See Eye Learn Program for Junior Kindergarten students. This program allows any JK student who needs glasses to receive a free pair. Dr. Gilliver also has a broad range of experience in eye care include ocular disease management, soft and rigid contact lens fitting, and refractive surgery co-management.

Dr. Elsa BudiantoOptometrist
Dr. Elsa Budianto graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2001 where she obtained her Doctorate in Optometry and honors degree in Science. She has worked in a multi-disciplinary ophthalmological and optometric practice where she gained invaluable experience in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, ocular disease, oculoplastics, retinopathy, and cataracts.

Dr. Budianto practices full scope optometry with a special interest in contact lenses as well as laser surgery co-management. She continues to work part-time at one of Toronto’s leading refractive centers where she performs pre-operative consultations (for LASIK, PRK, CLE and ICL) as well as provides post-operative care.
Dr. Budianto believes that patient education and disease prevention are vital to enhancing and maintaining vision. By taking the time to get to know her patients, she is able to counsel them according to their unique health and vision requirements. She welcomes patients of all ages.

Dr. Sandy MansoOptometrist
Dr. Manso was born and raised in Bradford, Ontario. She attended the University of Waterloo where she received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Manso earned her Doctor of Optometry at The New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts in 2010 with honours distinction.
She completed an ocular disease internship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Centre in White River Junction, Vermont where she worked alongside retina, glaucoma and low vision specialists. Dr. Manso also completed an internship at The Vision Institute of Canada where she gained experience and training in binocular vision, pediatrics and special populations.

Dr. Manso is certified in the use of Therapeutic Pharmaceutical agents (TPA) in Canada as well as the Treatment and Management of Ocular Diseases (TMOD) in the United States. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, the College of Optometrists of Ontario and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. She actively participates in annual continuing education.
Dr. Manso takes great pride in providing comprehensive eye exams, educating patients about their vision and ocular health as well as taking the time to attentively address her patient’s questions and concerns. Dr. Manso is trilingual and pleased to offer eye exams in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
